Charlie Schwerkolt’s Team 18 has revealed their 3rd year of partnership with Preston Hire as naming rights sponsor as Lee Holdsworth prepares to pilot a new look ZB Commodore and updated livery in the 2018 Supercars Championship.
2018 is shaping up to be the year for Holdsworth as the team re-bodies its existing Triple Eight-built Commodore to ZB specification for the Championship.
Throughout the 2017 season Holdsworth and the team demonstrated huge potential and continued to reach milestones throughout the year, claiming their highest race result to date with 4th in Race 25 and finishing 2nd overall at the Newcastle 500 for the final round of the year.
2018 will see Preston Hire enter their third year as naming rights sponsor, with Fuchs, One Pure, Kenworth, Toyota Material Handling, Pulsar Watches, GEHL Compact Equipment (a subsidiary of Manitou Machines) Sidchrome, Zupps Mount Gravatt, Waverley Forklifts, Credence Insurance and Ball & Doggett (rebranded from BJ Ball) all remaining with the team.
Hino Australia has also come on board the #18 Car with Surf Life Saving Queensland continuing as the team’s supported Charity of choice and Team Suppliers P1 Racewear, Tomcar and Bolle will also support Holdsworth and the team in 2018.
Schwerkolt is ecstatic to have longevity with all of the team’s valued sponsors in 2018, and to welcome on board some new partners.
“EXTREMELY EXCITED TO TAKE THE WRAPS OFF OUR NEW ZB COMMODORE, I THINK IT LOOKS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. BUT I’M EVEN MORE EXCITED TO HAVE EVERY PARTNER RETURNING FOR THE 2018 SEASON PLUS A COUPLE OF NEW ONES. I AM ALSO VERY PROUD TO HAVE PRESTON HIRE RETURN AS NAMING RIGHTS PARTNER BEING THEIR 3RD YEAR IN A ROW. 2018 BRINGS A LOT OF CONTINUITY WITH MY TEAM WITH LEE HOLDSWORTH AND BUILDING ON A SOLID FOUNDATION WITH MY FANTASTIC STAFF. OUR FIRST RACE CAN’T COME QUICK ENOUGH TO BE AT THE ADELAIDE 500 FROM 1ST MARCH 2018.”
Holdsworth has set his sights firmly on 2018 and putting the team into podium and race winning contention, and believes this is not unrealistic given the teams new development push.
Stuart McDonald has stepped us as Engineer and Robin Kollosche has signed on as full time Crew Chief in 2018.
“IT’S OUR 3RD YEAR AS A TEAM BUT THE FIRST YEAR WITH PLENTY OF CONTINUITY IN STAFF. WE’VE GOT AN AWESOME LITTLE CREW WITH VERY SUPPORTIVE SPONSORS, AND WITH STU STEPPING UP TO RACE ENGINEER WE WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH FOR EVEN STRONGER RESULTS IN ‘18’. LOVE THE LOOK OF THE TOUGH NEW LIVERY, ESPECIALLY ON THE ZB HOLDEN BODY SHELL. CAN’T WAIT TO GET THE NEW SEASON UNDERWAY!”
Markus Preston, Group Managing Director of Preston Hire, is excited to partner with the team for another year on track in 2018.
“PRESTON HIRE IS REALLY EXCITED FOR THE YEAR AHEAD. OUR ONGOING PARTNERSHIP WITH CHARLIE, LEE AND THE ENTIRE PRESTON HIRE RACING TEAM DEMONSTRATES THE CONSISTENT AND LOYAL CULTURE OF OUR TEAM AND OUR DESIRE FOR A YEAR OF PERFORMANCE AND STABILITY. I’M EXTREMELY PLEASED THAT PRESTON HIRE RACING WILL HIT THE TRACK IN 2018 WITH THE NEW ZB HOLDEN COMBINED WITH THE ONGOING DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING THE TEAM HAS BEEN DOING OF LATE. I’M CONFIDENT WE WILL SEE SOME YELLOW DOMINANCE ON TRACK THIS YEAR!”
Preston Hire Racing will debut their new livery and sponsor line-up at the Adelaide 500 on March 1 – 4 for Round 1 of the 2018 Supercars Championship, with all Races to be televised LIVE on Fox Sports.
