Lee Holdsworth is aiming to bounce back with a successful weekend at the Tasmania SuperSprint following a disappointing AGP round where he raced against a tough car setup.

The Preston Hire Racing Team returned to their Mount Waverley Garage after a tough weekend on the streets of Melbourne and have put in the hours to improve the car for the upcoming Round.

The Tasmania SuperSprint is the largest sporting event held in the region, and after racing well at last year’s round finishing just outside the Top 10, Holdsworth is seeking even better results at this year’s event.

“TASSIE WILL BE A TRUE TEST FOR US. THE TEAM HAS PUT IN BIG HOURS BACK IN THE WORKSHOP TO ENSURE WE RETURN TO THE TRACK WITH A QUICK CAR AFTER A DIFFICULT AGP. LOVE THIS LITTLE CIRCUIT AND LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING BACK OUT THERE!”

Team Owner Charlie Schwerkolt is eager to secure some much-needed points in the Symmons Plains Races.

The event will now operate under a new Qualifying format, with three ten minute sessions to now determine the Grid Positions for Races 7 & 8 of the Supercars Championship.

“WE’VE HAD A GREAT RUN DOWN IN TASSIE THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS AND LOOK FORWARD TO REBOUNDING FROM THE AGP. A GREAT NEW QUALIFYING FORMAT WHICH WILL SUIT THE 2.4KM TRACK. THREE KNOCKOUT SESSIONS FOR EACH RACE… HOPEFULLY BRINGING CAR 18 HOME IN THE TOP TEN IN BOTH RACES.”

Schwerkolt has also welcomed Lloyds Auctions on as a Team Sponsor prior to this weekend’s round.

“WE ARE EXCITED TO WELCOME LLOYDS AUCTIONS ONTO THE PRESTON HIRE RACING TEAM FOR THE 2018 SEASON. A FAST GROWING, FAMILY ORIENTATED AUCTION COMPANY, SPECIALISING IN CLASSIC CARS, FINE ART, HEAVY EQUIPMENT AND EVERYDAY HOUSEHOLD ITEMS. WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH THEM THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND WELL INTO THE FUTURE.”

Preston Hire Racing is now on their way to the Tasmania SuperSprint, to be held on the 6 – 8 of April with all races to be broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports.
