Lee Holdsworth is seeking solid results at the 2018 Australian Grand Prix after a Race 1 heavy smash ruled the team out of the majority of last year’s event.
Holdsworth is hoping to claim some positive points from the hometown Melbourne 400 round after a tough Race 2 in Adelaide resulted in a broken exhaust pipe and a back of field result.
“ALWAYS COOL TO BE APART OF THE F1 EVENT, AND EVEN BETTER NOW IT’S BECOME APART OF OUR CHAMPIONSHIP. WE SHOWED GOOD SPEED IN ADELAIDE AND I EXPECT TO BUILD ON THAT AT AGP.”
The Melbourne 400 will mark the first-ever races for Supercars Championship points at the Australian Grand Prix, and will also be the first running of the new ZB Body Shell alongside an International Category.
Team Owner Charlie Schwerkolt is looking forward to seeing his team take their Number 18 to the track in front of the Formula 1 crowd after a strong start in Adelaide.
Schwerkolt’s own Waverly Forklifts has reached a professional milestone as they come into their 21st year of supplying the AGP with specialised forklifts and equipment to set up the Formula 1 Pit Lane, debris fences, grandstands and concrete blocks.
“MELBOURNE COMES ALIVE, FIRST TIME EVER POINTS ROUND FOR AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX WHICH IS REALLY EXCITING. EVEN THOUGH WE’VE ALWAYS RACED HARD THERE, THIS CERTAINLY MEANS A LOT FOR OUR CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND. I BELIEVE IT’S GOING TO BE A GREAT LEVELLER AT THE GRAND PRIX GETTING THE AERO SORTED OF OUR NEW ZB COMMODORE AND THE HANDLING ON THE FAST FLOWING CORNERS.”
Schwerkolt and the Preston Hire Racing team are excited to welcome on board innovative workwear brand Saint Works as a partner for 2018.
The Saint Works Collection is built on their patent-pending denim innovations in strength, comfort and perfectly engineered workwear cuts.
“EXCITED TO HAVE SAINT WORKS COME ON AS A PARTNER FOR PRESTON HIRE RACING. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THE COOLEST WORKWEAR IN PIT LANE BY FAR AND WE’RE THRILLED TO BE PARTNERING WITH SUCH AN INNOVATIVE AND FRESH BRAND.”
Preston Hire Racing will now head to the Australian Grand Prix for Round 2 of the Supercars Championship on the 22-25 of March.
