Race 23 – Position 10

Holdsworth began the only international Supercars Round of the year with a P8 and P10 result in practice at Pukekohe Raceway.

Saturday’s qualifying session was abandoned after several delays and red flags due to the wet weather, and as a result Holdsworth’s best Practice lap time determined his starting position for the race.

Beginning in P11 Holdsworth was sandwiched on the first corner and dropped into P13, but climbed through the field and shortly after his first Pit stop to rejoined in P9.

Holdsworth finished P10 getting sent off track twice in a tough battle with Cameron Waters, and was happy with another top ten result.

Race 24 – DNF

Holdsworth finished P14 in Sunday’s Qualifying session in an extremely tight field, where thousandths of a second divided the first half of the field.

Holdsworth had a great start to the first Race, however he was quickly made an innocent bystander when he hit into the back of a 3-car wide blockage of Prodrive Cars.

Returning to the garage, the team began work on the car and assessed the damage however the front rail extension, rail extension and rear bumper were unable to be repaired in time.

Car 18 was dealt a DNF Finish, and Holdsworth has unfortunately dropped into 18th in the Championship Standings as a result.

“ALTHOUGH SUNDAY’S RACE WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING, IT WAS GOOD TO SEE US CARRY OUR CONSISTENCY AND SPEED THROUGH FROM GOLD COAST. ANOTHER TOP 10 RACE RESULT AND JUST OUTSIDE THE TOP 10 FOR BOTH QUALIFYING SESSIONS. NOW WE SET OUR SIGHTS ON FINISHING THE YEAR ON A HIGH AT THE GRAND FINALE IN NEWCASTLE.” – LEE HOLDSWORTH
