Lee Holdsworth is excited to take on Australia’s newest track at the Tailem Bend Supercars Event this coming weekend.
The Bend is Australia’s first new permanent race track in almost 20 years and driver Lee Holdsworth is looking forward to taking on the challenge of facing a Race Weekend with no data from previous events or any track knowledge.
“PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT HEADING TO ANOTHER NEW RACETRACK. SHOULD BE A MASSIVE CHALLENGE FOR ALL TEAMS GIVEN NO ONE HAS ANY PRIOR DATA OR SET UP KNOWLEDGE. I BELIEVE IT GIVES PRESTON HIRE RACING A BETTER OPPORTUNITY TO SHINE SO I’M PUMPED TO GET THE ROUND UNDERWAY!”
Team Owner Charlie Schwerkolt is also looking forward to the even playing field and having Co-Driver Jason Bright drive the Preston Hire Racing Commodore in the Tailem Bend Practice sessions.
Bright has previously joined the team in the garage at the Sydney SuperNight 300 event and later completed his first laps in the Number 18 at the team’s Sponsor Ride Day at a wet Sydney Motorsport Park.
“ALWAYS EXCITING TO GO TO A PLACE WE HAVE NEVER RACED AT BEFORE. WE ARE BACK ON THE HARD COMPOUND TYRE AND WITH NO DATA FROM PREVIOUS YEARS IT SHOULD MAKE IT AN EVEN PLAYING FIELD FOR ALL TEAMS. WE ARE GOING TO SHARE THE PRACTICE SESSION WITH OUR NEW ENDURO DRIVER JASON BRIGHT, TO GET AS MANY MILES AS POSSIBLE UNDER HIS BELT BEFORE THE UPCOMING PIRTEK ENDURO CUP.”
Preston Hire Racing will now prepare for the OTR SuperSprint at The Bend Raceway, to be held on 24 – 26 August with all races to be broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports.
