Preston Hire Racing is prepared to take on Race 21 at the new Sydney SuperNight 300 event this coming weekend.
The Sydney SuperNight 300 event features the new three-tiered Qualifying format and a single 77 Lap Race on the 3.9km Sydney Motorsport Park track.
Holdsworth is looking forward to the challenge and has previously raced a Supercar under lights in three sprint races at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi in 2012 alongside the F1 Category.
“RACING UNDER LIGHTS IS SOMETHING I HAVEN’T DONE SINCE ABU DHABI 2012. A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FORMAT TO OTHER ROUNDS AND 300KM WILL BE A MASSIVE CHALLENGE IN THOSE CONDITIONS. IT’S GOING TO BE A FUN ROUND FOR THE TEAM. HOPING WE CAN FIND SOMETHING THAT WILL SEE US MAKE A BIG STEP FORWARD WITH THE CAR.”
Team Owner Charlie Schwerkolt is looking forward to being apart of the first 300km Race in Supercars History this coming weekend.
“CAN’T IMAGINE A BETTER PLACE TO BE ON A SATURDAY NIGHT! FIRST 300KM RACE IN ONE HIT EVER IN SUPERCARS HISTORY. 3 PIT STOPS, NO MINIMUM FUEL DROP SO IT’S ALL ABOUT STRATEGY AND GOOD FUEL ECONOMY. CARS POTENTIAL TO USE A BIT MORE FUEL AS THE NIGHT GETS COLDER SO CERTAINLY SOME UNKNOWNS AND EXCITING RACING AHEAD FOR THE FIRST NIGHT RACE IN AUSTRALIA SINCE CALDER IN 1997.”
Preston Hire Racing will now prepare for the Sydney SuperNight 300 at Sydney Motorsport Park, to be held on 3 – 4 August with all races to be broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports.
